Glenlands in a Theodore double

BOTH major bull and female titles were claimed by the Bouldecombe based, Glenlands Droughtmaster Stud at last weeks breed feature show at Theodore.

The Childs family, Glenlands Stud took home nine broad ribbon wins including the Supreme exhibit and the Supreme Beef Exhibit of the show with their 34-month-old matron, Glenlands Iris.

By the deceased Crusader Mission II, Iris nursing an impressive eight -month-old bull calf, Glenlands KB, (Glenlands Element) took the supreme exhibit and the grand and senior champion female. She defeated her senior male counterpart and stablemate, Glenlands Hatch, the grand and senior champion bull for both supreme awards. The prefix has retained Hatch (36-months) by Cungelella Farmhand whom has already worked a full season.

Brett Coombe, Bindaree, Moura and his associate Hamilton Donaldson, Medway, Bogantungan, adjudicated a two state exhibitor list.

Glenlands claimed the Calf champion male with Johnny Walker a yearling by the $46,000 Talgai Boss and the reserve junior champion bull, Felix (22-months) by the homebred Glenlands Eastwood. The stud also took home the reserve senior champion male in the two-year-old Imparja (Garthowen Federal). The purple patch continued for the Glenlands in the female section taking the junior champion female with the show progeny of the $15,000 Yaralla Appollo with the 17-month-old Glenlands Jacky. Rounding off a successful day the stud claimed the pair of two bulls, the Breeder’s Group culminating with the Most Successful Exhibitor award.

Runner up in the Most Successful Exhibitor award was the New South Wales prefix, Heitiki Stud, Delungra. Tim Lloyd and his family took a second in the Breeder’s Group and the Pair of Bulls and a third in the Pair of Females. They secured the reserve calf champion female with the yearling, Heitiki Yoko (Heitiki Tobago) and the reserve senior champion female with the 34-month-old Heitiki Wrestler Wilma by the homebred sire, Heitiki 1660. In the ribbon hunt were Kim and Julie Barnett, Crusader Stud, Eidsvold whom showed the reserve junior champion female, the 18-month-old Crusader Mellow I (Swan Kraft). Topping off their good day was a win in the Pair of Females,

Keith and Jo Hill, Castletower Stud, Calliope took the calf champion female with a 10-month-old daughter of the $60,000 Talgai Impact from a daughter of the former breed record female holder, Swan Heart. At eight-months the reserve calf champion male was Amadale Ambition (Glenlands Garrison) exhibited by the Rose and Dawney families, Amadale Stud, Murgon. The prefix placed third in the Pair of Bulls, forth in the Breeder’s Group and third in the Sires Progeny with their trio by Garrison.

Fledging stud, Condamine, operated by the Kroll family, Chinchilla took out the Sires Progeny Group with their young trio by Crusader Knockout, which included the junior champion bull with the 19-month-old Guinda Zorr. John Weir’s, Mt Olive Stud, Gracemere took second in the Sires Progeny class with his trio by Glenlands Gall while Todd and Kylie Graham, Mungalla Stud, Taroom took second in the Pair of Females and fourth in the Pair of Bulls.
